Archimedes Screw

SKU Code: REMZ89

The Archimedes’ screw is a machine used for lifting water from a low lying body of water to a higher elevation. This system has been used for centuries in mining and irrigation and is still being used today. It consists of a cylindrical pipe and a helix inclined at an angle of about 45 degrees with the horizontal (the lower end) dipped in the water. Like water the rotation of the device causes the balls to rise in the pipe.
